The downside of mania

found you on the train,

unable to sit in the stillness of transit.

The downside of mania

found you unable to write 

with your beautiful handwriting,

unable to write 

with your right hand,

the words coming out wrong and sloppy.

Art pours out of you, but

it doesn’t look right,

so it doesn’t quite

feel right.

You’re smiling, but

other people are frowning,

so you check for spinach in your teeth, but

there isn’t any.
